New border crossing facility opens between HK and Shenzhen

HONG KONG - A new border checkpoint between Hong Kong and Shenzhen opened on Wednesday. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor and senior officials from Guangdong province attended the opening ceremony. 

Named Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point in Hong Kong and Liantang Port in Shenzhen, the new crossing is the seventh land-based control point on the border between the city and neighboring Shenzhen.

After the ceremony, Lam and other officials visited the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Co-operation Zone in Shenzhen.
