A new major exhibition, Youth Heading to Yan'an: Patriotic Youth During the War of Resistance, will open on Friday at the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence, marking the first time a collection of revolutionary relics from Shaanxi province will be displayed in Hong Kong.

Running until July 7, 2027, the thematic showcase offers free admission to the public. It features historical relics loaned from three prominent Yan'an institutions: the Memorial Museum of the Eighth Route Army Xian Office, the Yan'an Literature and Art Memorial Museum, and the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese Military and Political University Memorial Hall.

Divided into three key zones comprising the main gallery, "Interactive Yan'an", and an Education Corner, the exhibition uses valuable photos, bite-sized facts, and multimedia programs to illuminate the moving stories and immense contributions of young intellectuals during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, offering visitors a multi-faceted look at Yan'an's historic role and its connection with Hong Kong. 

During the wartime, countless progressive youths were deeply inspired by Yan'an's resolute faith, democratic atmosphere, and noble aspirations, viewing it as a “revolutionary holy land”.
