'space oil drug' has been officially renamed 'Etomidate'
The Hong Kong SAR government announced on Thursday that "space oil drug" would be renamed Etomidate. The Secretary for Security of the HKSAR, Chris Tang Ping-keung, said in an exclusive interview with China Daily that names like "space oil" could mislead the public, necessitating a clear definition. He emphasized that Etomidate is a drug and that its illegal use could severely harm health. Tang noted that Etomidate abuse in Hong Kong was becoming increasingly serious, and the Security Bureau would enhance public education on drug prevention.
