HONG KONG — A massive paper‑mâché statue of the King of Ghosts (Dai Si Wong) was paraded through the streets of Shau Kei Wan and Sai Wan Ho on Thursday, as the local community gathered for the 85th edition of the Yu Lan Festival – Intangible Cultural Heritage Parade.

Taking place on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, the procession saw the local community gather to perform age-old rituals and pray for neighborhood peace, showcasing a vivid preservation of Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage.

The King of Ghosts is a fearsome deity, traditionally believed to hold authority over wandering spirits.
