Hong Kong will further enhance youth development, cultivating an environment for young people to shine on the global stage, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said on Saturday.

In a video address at the Youth Development Summit 2026, he said that under the city’s first Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development (2026-30), Hong Kong will strengthen youth development opportunities, nurturing a new generation of young people who love the nation and Hong Kong, and empowering them with an international perspective.

“Working with our schools, businesses and community partners, we’re cultivating an environment for young people to unleash their potential, thrive and shine on the global stage,” he said.

Lee noted that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government had earlier rolled out the city’s inaugural Youth Development Blueprint and launched over 290 measures to provide concrete opportunities for young people.
