Thousands of revelers swarmed hotspots across Hong Kong on Saturday night for a pulsating, open-air citywide Halloween carnival.
The iconic Lan Kwai Fong nightlife district in Central District hosted a lively “Monster Flash Mob Parade” and costume party, drawing crowds of locals and tourists dressed in elaborate attire. Despite police crowd-control measures and long queues for access to packed entertainment venues, partygoers’ enthusiasm remained undampened.
Under a canopy of neon-lit, cobwebbed bars and throbbing bass, Lan Kwai Fong’s steep narrow lanes were turned into a runway featuring hyper-detailed anime cosplay, classic ghouls, and sharp pop-culture satire that electrified the festive atmosphere.
The waterfront at Kai Tak Sports Park in Kowloon hosted a block party featuring Hallowe’en-themed cosplay, live music, dance performances, luminous light installations, and a bustling seasonal market. Similar celebrations unfolded across Kowloon, including live music parties and themed markets at Langham Place in Mong Kok and Mody Gardens in Tsim Sha Tsui.
China Daily photographer DJ Clark captured the spooky and festive moments at Lan Kwai Fong.
