Water levels in Hong Kong’s coastal areas during the high tide are forecast to be about 0.5 meters higher than normal on Saturday night under the combined effect of the spring tide and the northeast monsoon.

Minor flooding may occur over some low-lying coastal areas, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

“The water levels over Tolo Harbour and Victoria Harbour will rise to around 3 meters above Chart Datum,” it said, referring to the level to which soundings or tide heights are referenced.
