CBA: Shenzhen wins 7th straight game, Shanghai edges Beijing

BEIJING - The Shenzhen Aviators sailed past the Sichuan Blue Whales 117-98 for their seventh consecutive win in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Sunday.

He Xining scored 26 points to lead six players in double figures for Shenzhen, and Jared Sullinger finished with 12 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.

Shenzhen built a 51-41 lead at the break. He Xining took over the game to help Shenzhen extend the lead to 30 points in the third quarter.

The Shanghai Sharks took its largest lead of the game at 72-60 in the third quarter. The Beijing Ducks cut the deficit to 96-94 with two minutes and 45 seconds left in the fourth before Wang Zhelin sealed the victory for Shanghai

Marlain Veal notched a game-high 29 points for the second-to-last Sichuan.

The Shanghai Sharks edged the Beijing Ducks 102-98 as Wang Zhelin had 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Shanghai led 25-20 in the first quarter. Lei Meng hit consecutive 3-pointers to put Beijing up briefly, 30-29, but Shanghai regained the lead before the break.

In other games on Sunday, the Jilin Northeast Tigers beat the Ningbo Rockets 96-95, and the Shandong Heroes smashed the Fujian Sturgeons 109-87.
