CBA: Guangzhou smash Tianjin, Zhejiang crush Jiangsu

BEIJING - The Guangzhou Long Lions overwhelmed the Tianjin Pioneers 98-77, while the Zhejiang Golden Bulls cruised past the Jiangsu Dragons 111-92 in the 2022-2023 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday.

Guangzhou had a 9-0 run in the second quarter to lead as many as 18 points at the break. Tianjin managed to cut down the deficit to 10 points at 81-71 before Guangzhou answered with a 9-0 sprint.

Nate Mason led Guangzhou with 24 points, followed by 17 from Li Yanzhe. Cui Yongxi added 11 points. Meng Zikai had 21 points and 7 rebounds for Tianjin. Lin Tingqian contributed 20 points and 6 assists.

Zhejiang and Jiangsu tied it at 51-51 at the break before Zhejiang surged with a 17-2 run in the third period to put the game beyond reach.

Jarmar Gulley had game-high 36 points for Zhejiang. Wu Qian finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Jiangsu's Antonio Blakeney had 31 points and 7 rebounds. Wu Guanxi and Liu Zhixuan added 11 points apiece.

In another game, the Nanjing Monkey Kings edged the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions 135-131 after three overtimes.
