The CHP said that the local case of unknown origin involved a 49-year-old man who developed a fever on Nov 6.

The patient consulted a private doctor on November 12 and submitted a deep throat saliva sample on the same day, the CHP said.

He last went to work on Nov 9 at 25 Shan Kwong Road in Happy Valley. The four other local infections were linked to a previous case, it added.

The CHP said its epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed cases were ongoing.

According to the Hospital Authority, a total of 113 confirmed patients were being treated in 20 public hospitals as of Sunday, including seven patients in critical condition and two are in serious condition.

Meanwhile, the Transport Department announced Sunday that seven additional temporary testing kit distribution and collection centers will be set up on November 16 to provide free COVID-19 testing for taxi drivers.

Taxi drivers who test negative can collect an Anti-epidemic Tag for Taxi Drivers from trade organizations and display the tag in their taxis.
