Technology focus in 4 Hong Kong fairs, Canton Fair

HONG KONG – Four technology fairs and a month of electronics and lighting: the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s October lineup is certainly packed.

The buzz starts with the 46th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 29th electronicAsia, both at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on Oct 13-16.

The 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo, which follows at the city’s AsiaWorld-Expo, will take place Oct 26-29, while the 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) runs at HKCEC from Oct 27 to 30.

Together, the four fairs are expected to draw about 6,200 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions, offering a glimpse of what comes next in consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, robotics, emerging industries, smart lighting and smart cities.

New to this year’s Electronics Fair, a Future Industries Zone will spotlight the latest advances in computing, manufacturing, marine and quantum technologies, microelectronics and wellness.

The zone will also unveil the new Top 100 Future Industries Pioneer List to highlight innovative products and solutions that show strong promise in the market.

New tech at Canton Fair

Discover the latest in electronics, smart manufacturing and new energy vehicles as the China Import and Export Fair — popularly known as Canton Fair — opens its autumn edition on Oct 15 at Guangzhou’s China Import and Export Fair Complex.

The tripartite fair opens with five days of consumer electronics, electrical products, industrial automation, smart manufacturing, new energy vehicles and smart mobility, open 9:30 am-6 pm daily through Oct 19.

It will return to the same venue from Oct 23 to 27 and Oct 31 to Nov 4.

With about 32,000 exhibitors, 1.55 million square meters and, by share, more new and green products than ever, the twice-yearly fair marks its 70th anniversary with an expansive 140th edition.

Some 64 percent of exhibitors’ products leverage industrial internet, artificial intelligence or other new technologies, and new and green products make up record shares of 23.2 percent and 26 percent, respectively.
