
HONG KONG – Hong Kong's Exchange Fund saw its foreign assets rising to HK$3,694.5 billion (about $470.8 billion) in July, according to key analytical accounts released by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) on Friday.
The assets increased by HK$13.8 billion during the month, the HKMA said.

The Monetary Base, comprising Certificates of Indebtedness, government-issued currency notes and coins in circulation, the balance of the banking system and Exchange Fund Bills and Notes issued, amounted to HK$2,080.1 billion, it said.
Claims on the private sector in Hong Kong amounted to HK$413.3 billion. Foreign liabilities amounted to HK$139.9 billion, according to the HKMA.
