Hong Kong Exchange Fund posts HK$134.7b gain in H1

HONG KONG – Hong Kong's Exchange Fund recorded an investment income of HK$134.7 billion ($17.7 billion) in the first half of this year, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced on Tuesday.

The investment income included HK$49.1 billion in gains on bonds, HK$11.8 billion in losses on Hong Kong equities and HK$53.7 billion  in gains on other equities, the HKMA said in a statement.

Total assets of the Exchange Fund stood at HK$4,463.6 billion by the end of June, an increase of HK$302.4 billion from the end of 2025. Accumulated surplus stood at HK$862.7 billion by the end of June.
