Suspected wartime bomb found at HK construction site, 300 evacuated

A bomb suspected to date back to the World War II period was found at a construction site in Hong Kong’s Quarry Bay on Friday.

Police officers arrived at the scene soon after receiving a report around noon of the 1.3-meter-long bomb discovered at the site on Pan Hoi Street.

Nearby areas were cordoned off, and approximately 300 people from nearby shops and residential buildings were also evacuated. Nearby roads and MTR station exits were temporarily closed as well.
