The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin launched a new cross-boundary school bus service for students from Macao on Monday. The initiative allows them to travel to and from school without the need to get off the vehicle for boundary clearance.
The service covers 27 Macao schools and operates on six routes in the morning and two in the afternoon, with 17 designated pick-up and drop-off points across Macao. It is available to Macao students from primary four to secondary six who reside in Hengqin. Currently, 65 students have registered.

If seats are available, the remaining quota can be applied for via the WeChat mini-program of the Hengqin boundary control point (琴澳口岸通) starting in October.
The system links the students' information to the bus, enabling the entire group to clear immigration checks without disembarking, significantly simplifying the commute. For added convenience and safety, parents and school officials can track the bus' location in real-time.
