NEW YORK - The US dollar weakened slightly in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.0 percent to 105.254 at 3:00 pm.

In late New York trading, the euro increased to $1.0743 from $1.0740 in the previous session, and the British pound rose to $1.2718 from $1.2709 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 158.02 Japanese yen, higher than 157.79 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar added to 0.8846 Swiss francs from 0.8838 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3713 Canadian dollars from 1.3716 Canadian dollars. The US dollar climbed to 10.4430 Swedish kronor from 10.4380 Swedish kronor.
