China and the United States are maintaining close communication on a framework for reciprocal tariff reductions covering $30 billion worth of goods from each side, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
Further progress will be announced in due course, He Yadong, a spokesman for the ministry, said at a weekly news conference.

The two sides agreed in principle to discuss the arrangement under the trade council during economic and trade consultations in the Republic of Korea in May.
