Zhuhai: New innovation center to boost AI development

An embodied intelligence innovation center was launched in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone on Hengqin Island on June 26 to provide data products and technology support for robotics and artificial-intelligence industries.

Jointly established by Hengqin’s industry guidance fund, Beijing-based general-purpose robotics company GigaAI, and other organizations, the facility will also explore pathways for compliant cross-boundary data flows and closer industry-academia collaboration.

Covering about 3,400 square meters, the first-phase project is expected to generate more than 10 petabytes of data annually. Plans include building a robotics exhibition hall, multiscenario data collection areas, a data processing center, and a model validation center.
