A new special exhibition will open on Wednesday at the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM), showcasing stories of world jewelry from different eras, regions, and curatorial perspectives.

Jointly organized by The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York and the HKPM, the exhibition, titled "Treasures of Global Jewellery", marks The Met’s first major traveling exhibition of its global jewelry collection.

Featuring around 200 masterpieces of jewelry, the event will run until Oct 19. It is the first major exhibition in Hong Kong dedicated to the narratives of jewelry and other forms of human adornment, spanning five continents and 4,000 years — from the second millennium BCE to the 21st century.

Founded in 1870, The Met in New York is among the world’s most visited and influential museums. Its collection comprises more than 1.5 million objects, representing over 5,000 years of art from around the world.
