HONG KONG – Athletic kid-sized humanoid robots have been invited to Hong Kong to engage with children and experience the World Cup football fever.
Organized by the Whampoa shopping mall, the "ROBO Cup" features K1, a humanoid robot developed by Tsinghua University, to showcase football skills and interact with children, bringing the excitement of the World Cup to the community.
Running from Saturday to Sunday, the event is part of the shopping mall's efforts to promote the quadrennial global sporting extravaganza, together with live broadcasting of football matches and other related activities.
China Daily's photographer Adam Lam took the photos during a media preview on Friday.
