An exhibition that traces Hong Kong's historical journey from its ancient roots to a modern global city will open to the public on Wednesday.

Titled "Hong Kong Story", the exhibition emphasizes the city’s resilience and cultural legacy through an exploration of its rich history that spans 6,000 years, according to the organizer.

Featuring over 2,800 artifacts at the Hong Kong Museum of History, the event traces the city's evolution, starting with its ancient cultural roots linked to the Chinese mainland, progressing through the crucial blend of Eastern and Western influences, and delving into the challenging wartime years when the city stood in unity with its motherland.

The exhibition also highlights Hong Kong's remarkable transformation, driven by an unwavering spirit of perseverance, from a historic trade gateway to an international metropolis.

Through engaging historical settings, it portrays the resilience of Hong Kong's people and their enduring connection to their motherland.
