A shopping month focusing on promoting Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) New Year goods beginning in Guangzhou on Monday will run through Mar 3.

ICH inheritors will be invited to participate in live broadcast sessions to share stories of heritage conservation and succession.

CNY with temple fair

A temple fair, which kicked off at Shenzhen’s Bao’an Daqianli shopping center on Friday and is running until Sunday, will return for another three-day run at the same venue on Feb 6.

Spanning over 1,000 square meters, the fair will feature over 30 rotating vendors, offering holiday goods such as festive flowers, calligraphy banners, lanterns, and some contemporary Chinese New Year seasonal gifts.

Diverse flavors across the country, which will be up for tasting, include Shanxi mature vinegar, Hunan sugared oil cakes, and Chaozhou handmade taro pastries.

The temple fair also sets up an intangible cultural heritage experience area, where attendees can witness and interact with artisans skilled in calligraphy, cotton sculpture, Lingnan palm weaving and more.
