An online exhibition featuring 100 Hong Kong stories related to the development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was launched in Hong Kong on Friday, highlighting the city’s role as a superconnector and super value-adder over the past decade.
The Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce, which initiated the project, showcased the first batch of videos about the participants’ stories of the BRI at the launch ceremony.
More stories about inspiring figures from all walks of life — including industry pioneers, small and medium-sized enterprises’ founders, young entrepreneurs, and cross-border nonprofit organizations — will be published later.

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said at the ceremony that the BRI plays an important role for China’s international cooperation, and Hong Kong is actively participating into the nation’s development as a superconnector and super value-adder.
The city has been facilitating the construction of a multidimensional connectivity network for the BRI, continually expanding trade networks, especially in relation to countries and regions involved in the Initiative, he said.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Hong Kong will host the 10th Belt and Road Summit, which is expected to attract over 90 officials and business leaders from 18 Belt and Road countries and regions.
Lee said the summit will provide an opportunity to review the development of projects under the BRI. He said he believes that Hong Kong has the capacity and resources to contribute even more to the development of the BRI.

The Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce was established in 2018. Its mission is to unite business professionals from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and other overseas Chinese communities, leveraging their expertise to contribute to the BRI. By connecting businesses with BRI countries and regions, the chamber aims to create business opportunities, foster multifaceted cooperation, benefit local communities, and contribute to the nation’s development.
Secretary for Justice Paul Lam Ting-kwok said at the launch ceremony that the chamber has achieved remarkable success since its establishment.
Lam said he hopes that the chamber’s members will actively encourage their partners in other countries and regions to leverage Hong Kong’s legal services and its unique advantages in Asia, and choose the city as the venue for conducting transactions and resolving disputes within the countries and regions involved in the BRI.
