The 10th Belt and Road Summit, co-organized by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), aims to promote multilateral cooperation and shape a shared future. The summit will take place on Sept 10 and 11 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
Under the theme “collaborate for change, shape a shared future”, the summit will bring together over 90 officials and business leaders from 18 Belt and Road countries and regions, according to the HKTDC. It will feature in-depth discussions on the immense opportunities arising from the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) across sectors including finance and investment, innovation and technology, professional services, infrastructure, and maritime services.
The summit’s 10th edition will build on past successes by developing into a leading platform for policy dialogue and business collaboration between Belt and Road economies and other countries and regions.

The summit has fostered long-lasting international collaboration and promoted the building of a sustainable future. The summit has always aimed to provide participants with opportunities to showcase project achievements, exchange the latest information, and develop long-term partnerships.
Algernon Yau Ying-wah, Hong Kong’s secretary for commerce and economic development, said at a news conference that in a world filled with uncertainties, the timing of this year’s summit could not be more opportune. Countries from the Middle East, Asia, and Africa are gathering in Hong Kong to discuss topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), green technology, and energy development — all aimed at shaping a better future for the world, he added.
We have full confidence in Hong Kong’s business environment, Yau said, adding that Hong Kong is where Eastern and Western cultures converge. It enjoys backing from the mainland and possesses a deep understanding of Western business environments and practices, he added. This year, various projects from Japan, the United States (US), and other countries have set up operations here, bringing fresh vitality to the city, Yau said.
Patrick Lau Hui-ping, deputy executive director of the HKTDC, said that the summit is one of the world’s most important platforms for exploring opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative, playing a key role in strengthening regional connectivity and driving economic growth.
On the summit’s tenth anniversary, the HKTDC reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the platform for international collaboration, Lau added.

Lau said the summit aims to support all participants in exploring new markets and opportunities, deepening engagement and cooperation within Belt and Road economies, and translating the initiative’s vision into concrete partnerships and outcomes — collectively opening a new chapter of shared progress.
