The first comprehensive showcase of Mughal art from the Persian-speaking Muslim dynasty in Hong Kong kicked off on Wednesday.
Titled Treasures of the Mughal Court from the Victoria and Albert Museum, the exhibition at the Hong Kong Palace Museum features over 100 remarkable objects from the Mughal dynasty (1526–1857), including paintings, jewelry, architectural fragments, weaponry, textiles, and ceramics.

The event highlights the dynasty’s artistic mastery and cross-cultural exchanges, with a particular focus on interactions with China.
After its acclaimed debut at the V&A in London from late 2024 to early 2025, the exhibition makes its only Asian stop. It features loans from Kuwait, the United Kingdom, the Chris Hall Collection, and the Collection of Mengdiexuan.

The exhibition, which will run through Feb 23, 2026, is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum and is solely sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
