Tribute to Tai Po fire victims

HONG KONG - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government held a memorial service on Saturday morning in memory of the victims of the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Hong Kong's Tai Po district.

HKSAR Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, together with principal officials, Executive Council non-official members and civil servants, observed a three-minute silence at 8am tomorrow at the the government headquarters to mourn to victims.

Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council Nong Rong, Executive Deputy Director of the HKMAO Xu Qifang, and Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR Zhou Ji also attended the event.

From Saturday to Monday, the national flags and the HKSAR flags displayed at all government buildings, including offices of the government outside the SAR, will be flown at half staff. All entertainment and celebration activities organized or funded by the government will be cancelled or postponed as appropriate.
