Passing on the torch for Hong Kong's future

HONG KONG - Incumbent and newly-elected members of the Legislative Council met the media at the Legislative Council Complex on Tuesday — the first such briefing since the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s first LegCo term.

After Sunday's Legislative Council general election, 90 lawmakers were voted into office, with 40 elected by the Election Committee constituency, 30 by functional constituencies and 20 by geographical constituencies. The new legislature will begin its official term on Jan 1.
