HONG KONG - Three new exhibitions have opened at the Hong Kong Museum of Art in Tsim Sha Tsui, inviting visitors on a dreamlike journey through the world of art.

One of the highlights is Wu Guanzhong: Encountering Landscapes, which focuses on the renowned painter’s journey of sketching, 30 years after his return to China following his studies in France.

The exhibition features a rich collection of Wu’s sketches, ink, and oil paintings. Complementing the display is an immersive installation by local artist Flyingpig, who offers a contemporary perspective that helps audiences uncover the secrets behind Wu’s unconventional creations.

A mobile educational art bus featuring Wu’s work has also been launched to visit schools and communities. The program, named Art Journey with Wu Guanzhong: Mobile Museum,  provides a multi-dimensional, interactive learning experience that allows residents to appreciate the legacy of this 20th-century art master.

The other two exhibitions include Mini-figures in Paintings, which explores the charm of tiny figures in Chinese landscape paintings from the Chih Lo Lou Collection, enhanced with animated elements; and Fantastic Breeze: Selected Fans from the Jingguanlou Collection, showcasing more than 150 folding fans alongside masterpieces by drawing masters such as Zhang Daqian and Qi Baishi.

China Daily's Andy Chong took the photos on Tuesday.
