National Games official merchandise up for grabs in HK starting Monday

The official franchised products of the 15th National Games will become available for sale in Hong Kong on Monday, drumming up public excitement for the games.

The launching ceremony for the official merchandise of the National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG) was held on Saturday at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui.

A pop-up store was set up at the venue to showcase the official franchised products for sale.

Members of the public can start buying the products for the Hong Kong and Guangdong competition regions on Monday at the first batch of official retail outlets at the Atrium, Level G, Kai Tak Mall 3, Kai Tak Sports Park; G6, GFM Floor, Hong Kong West Kowloon Station; and first Floor, Immigration Tower, Wan Chai.

More official retail stores will be opened in various locations across Hong Kong.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government has been striving to promote public participation in the National Games and encouraging residents and visitors to experience the enthusiasm for the mega sports events.

The Hong Kong competition region, with the support of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Brand Development Council, had selected a number of companies to design and produce a series of official franchised products for the games.

These products "with Hong Kong characteristics" feature designs incorporating local elements such as Victoria Harbour scenery, city landmarks and local cuisine, showcasing the unique charm of Hong Kong.

To mark the 100-day countdown to the Games, the Hong Kong competition region has also launched the "100-Day to the National Games All Together for 1 Million KM Challenge" series of activities.

Members of the public can participate in various sports activities such as walking, running, and cycling, and upload their accumulating sports kilometer records to a designated webpage in achieving the target distance together from Saturday until July 26.
