Hong Kong's Ocean Park unveiled the names of its giant panda twin cubs on Tuesday, following a naming contest that began in February and attracted more than 35,700 suggestions from the public.

"Jia Jia" was chosen as the name for the elder sister, while the little brother was named "De De", according to the park.

The twins, born on Aug 15 last year, are Hong Kong's first locally born pair of giant panda cubs. They are cubs of Ying Ying and Le Le, pandas given as a gift by the central government to the special administrative region in 2007.
