HONG KONG - Student-created artworks inspired by everyday life and cultural traditions in Hong Kong, on display aboard the Star Ferry “Twinkling Star” and at Central Pier 7, have drawn a lot of people.

Approximately 500 local secondary students collaborated with professional artists to produce nine sets of site-specific artworks as part of the Art! WeCan 2025 Exhibition, organized by Project WeCan and the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (HKYAF), with support from the Social Welfare Department’s Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged.

The works include bird house installations, fabric bird sculptures, wood reliefs, bunting, arched window stickers, woolen weavings, and a series of illustrated posters incorporating Cantonese slang.

The works have been installed on the first floor of Central Pier 7 and the upper deck of the “Twinkling Star” ferry running between Central and Tsim Sha Tsui, with venue support from The “Star” Ferry Company, Limited.

The exhibition offers students a platform to engage with the public through visual arts and runs throughout June.
