ASEAN media learn about advanced auto tech, robotics, green energy

HONG KONG - Editors and journalists from ASEAN nations participating in the ASEAN Media Capacity Building Workshop learnt about BYD's technological development and UBTech's robotics, as well as green energy during a tour in Shenzhen on Thursday.

Through interactive exhibits and giant automotive components, the workshop participants gained a deeper understanding of BYD's development history, reflecting China's fast-growing advancement in technology. At UBTech's headquarters, they had an opportunity to interact with life-sized humanoid robots and witness how they perform various tasks.

Later in the afternoon, the participants also visited the ‌Nanshan Energy Ecological Park‌.

Organized by the Chinese Mission to ASEAN and China Daily, the workshop, which runs from July 14-19, aims to empower media organizations in ASEAN countries to enhance their competitiveness in light of the ongoing transformation in journalism, especially given the rise of AI.
