HONG KONG - Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau Ying-wah was set to fly to Paris on Monday night to attend an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development ministerial meeting.

Yau will attend the Ministerial Council Meeting of the OECD and then proceed to Budapest to forge closer economic and trade ties between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Hungary, according to an HKSAR government statement.

From June 8 to 9, Yau will attend a roundtable luncheon with Hungarian business leaders in Budapest and also meet with senior officials to discuss economic and trade cooperation issues

Yau will join a discussion session at the OECD meeting on June 7 with participating ministers on trade policies for resilient and inclusive growth.

He will also meet with members of the French business sector to promote Hong Kong's advantages and business opportunities.　

From June 8 to 9, Yau will attend a roundtable luncheon with Hungarian business leaders in Budapest and also meet with senior officials to discuss economic and trade cooperation issues.

Afterwards, Yau will proceed to to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to attend the 10th Arab-China Business Conference on June 11.

Under the theme of "Collaborating for Prosperity", the conference aims to promote cooperation between the Chinese mainland and the Arab nations in the areas of economy, trade and investment.

Yau will return to the HKSAR on June 12. Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Bernard Chan Pak-li will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Yau's absence.
