A Hong Kong Special Administrative Region media delegation wrapped up a three-day tour to learn about the nation’s aerospace development in Hainan province, following a visit to the site of the first Qiongya Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Haikou on Tuesday morning as part of the patriotic education initiative.

The first Qiongya Congress of the CPC was held at a typical traditional residence in June 1926, marking the birth of Qiongya local party organization.

The tour, which began on Sunday, was organized by the Working Group on Patriotic Education under the Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee. Delegates also toured modern aerospace facilities.

Concluding the study tour, Eliza Chan Ching-har, convenor of the working group, highlighted the significance of the visit, noting that it coincides with the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. She emphasized that the revolutionary pioneers of Qiongya demonstrated unwavering willpower and a strong patriotic spirit in their struggle for the nation.

"The aerospace professionals today are pursuing technological self-reliance, which carries forward the same spirit of perseverance in the new era," Chan said. She noted that China's technological advancements are the result of generations of dedicated effort and patriotic commitment.

Chan added that the working group will hold a general meeting later this week to discuss insights gained from the tour.
