1 COVID-19 case detected in Wong Tai Sin

HONG KONG – Government staff members detected one positive COVID-19 case during an overnight compulsory testing operation in Wong Tai Sin. 

In a statement issued on Friday, the government said that one positive and two indeterminate COVID-19 cases were found at Lung Lok House, Lower Wong Tai Sin (II) Estate where 780 people were tested.

Also on Friday, the government specified Chui Kwai House of Kwai Chung Estate in Kwai Chung as a "restricted area" effective from 3 pm

Government staff visited 404 households there and will follow up with those who did not answer the door.

Also on Friday, the government specified Chui Kwai House of Kwai Chung Estate in Kwai Chung as a "restricted area" effective from 3 pm. Residents of the block, except those who had tested positive for the virus in the past three months, are required to stay in their homes and undergo compulsory testing by 9 pm the same day. 

The government said the decision was made after reviewing "a basket of factors," including the viral load in sewage and the information of relevant positive cases.

The government said it aims to complete the exercise by Saturday noon.
