Out and about: Hong Kong eases COVID-19 curbs

HONG KONG - Hong Kong residents can again have dinner in restaurants and watch the latest box office hit in movie houses as the government eased some social distancing measures following the city's fifth wave of COVID-19 infections.

Amusement parks, cinemas and outdoor sport venues were allowed to reopen to the public. Other venues such as fitness centers, beauty parlors, public libraries and museums also reopened.

The maximum number of people permitted at group gatherings in public places will be increased from two to four, while the prohibition on gatherings at private premises involving more than two households will be canceled.

Meanwhile, members of the public need to continue to wear a mask on all public transportation and in public places.
