With the league currently on hiatus, the AFC has kicked off a series of articles to determine the best sides from the last four editions of the AFC Champions League.
In the 2016 AFC Champions League, Iran's Zob Ahan let in just two goals in six matches in the group stage, largely thanks to Mazaheri. He recorded five clean sheets and an 85.3 percent save percentage during the tournament.
Mazaheri, currently playing for Iran's Tractor club, will vie with Khaled Eisa (Al Ain), Ignatiy Nesterov (Lokomotiv), Shusaku Nishikawa (Urawa Red Diamonds) and Vedran Janjetovic (Sydney FC) for the title of best goalkeeper in the 2016 ACL.
