Iran's stadiums to reopen for sports competitions

TEHRAN - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that stadiums will reopen in the coming days after being closed since late February due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

"Stadiums will reopen but without fans. We will continue the reopening calmly and gradually," Rouhani said at a meeting at the National Headquarters for Managing and Fighting the Coronavirus in the capital of Tehran.

As of Sunday, a total of 97,424 Iranians have been infected with the novel coronavirus, of whom 6,203 died.
