Iran submits bid to host AFC competition in 2027

TEHRAN - Iran has officially submitted its bid for hosting the AFC Asian Cup in 2027, the Tehran Times daily reported on Tuesday.

Iran is preparing to host Asia's top soccer teams in 2027, the Iranian spokesman of the national federation, Amir Mahdi Alavi, was quoted as saying.

Iran has already hosted the Asian Cup two times in 1968 and 1976 and has won the Asian Cup three times.

The AFC is expected to announce its host country early next year.

India, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have already submitted their bids for 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
