Hong Kong reports 2 more coronavirus cases

HONG KONG - Hong Kong reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus pneumonia on Thursday, bringing the total number of infections in the city to 67.

The 66th patient is a 75-year-old man, the husband of the 63rd patient. He has tested negative for the virus, but his lung X-rays showed signs of pneumonia infection.

Officials also called on passengers who had shared buses with two infected patients on Feb 5 to contact the government

Before being admitted to the hospital, the patient frequently visited the town of Zhangmutou in the city of Dongguan, Guangdong province, and until Saturday used to spend an hour every morning in a restaurant in Tun Mun with his wife.

The 67th patient is a 38-year-old woman who works as a clerk in a Yau Tong restaurant.

Also on Thursday, officials called on passengers who had shared buses with two infected patients on Feb 5 to contact the government.

The city’s 25th and 62nd patients, who entered Hong Kong from Macao on Feb 5, had taken the 101X bus from downtown Macao to the checkpoints of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge at 5 pm and then transferred to a shuttle bus to Hong Kong.

The two buses carried a total of about 40 passengers.

In addition, a 58-year-old taxi driver has tested positive in an initial test for the coronavirus.
