The China Coast Guard conducted law enforcement patrols in the territorial waters of China's Huangyan Island and surrounding areas on Friday in response to the Philippine acts of infringement and provocation, and said the operation is a necessary countermeasure.

In an online statement, the CCG said it has stepped up law enforcement patrols in the territorial waters of Huangyan Island and adjacent areas since the beginning of October, handling vessels involved in illegal intrusions in accordance with laws and regulations.
