
HONG KONG – NBA basketball and Asian pop stars will share the spotlight in the Macao Special Administrative Region as the NBA China Game 2026 arrives at the Venetian Arena from Oct 9 to 11.
The Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets will tip off preseason games at 7:30 pm on Oct 9 and at 5:30 pm on Oct 11. At halftime, South Korea’s Gen Z group KiiiKiii will take over.
On Oct 10, which is the Fan Day, Mavericks and Rockets players, entertainment teams and mascots will all show up for various crowd-engaging activities starting 3:30 pm. Singers from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and South Korea will also perform live.
Intl anime and gaming carnival
Find your next favorite fan merchandise, grab a bite and follow the music. Guangzhou’s Baiyun district is bringing all three together for its first international anime and gaming carnival.
The event runs from 10 am to 5 pm on Monday and Tuesday at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center. Designer toy brands and fan merchandise will offer plenty to browse, with specialty food stalls ready to keep visitors fueled between stops alongside live performances.
It’s also part of the finale to the venue’s five-day Baiyun International Beer and Food Carnival, which ends on Monday. Visitors can enjoy both celebrations that day.
Macao eyes 5.4m border crossings
The Macao SAR expects to record 5.2 million to 5.4 million border crossings during the National Day holiday on the Chinese mainland from Oct 1 to 7.
The city is staging a series of holiday events, including free admission on Oct 1 to the Macao Grand Prix Museum, the Macao Museum and the Macao Science Center’s exhibition center.
The 34th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest took place on Oct 1 and will return on Oct 4, featuring teams from Thailand, the United Kingdom and other countries.
Police said they have strengthened coordination with Macao Customs and immigration authorities in Zhuhai and the Hong Kong SAR to share real-time passenger and vehicle flow data and improve traffic forecasts.
Eswin seeks HK$2.27b in Hong Kong IPO
Beijing Eswin Computing Technology is set to list on the Hong Kong stock exchange on Oct 9, pricing its shares at up to HK$1.59 apiece ($0.2), with expected net proceeds of HK$2.27 billion.
The company plans to use 65 percent of the proceeds to develop new chip products, upgrade existing ones, strengthen its integrated hardware-software platform and enhance its research and development system.
Eswin develops chips based on the open-source RISC-V architecture. Its products are mainly used in home, office, automotive and robotics applications. According to its listing documents, it was China’s largest domestic provider of human-machine interaction chip products for smart devices by revenue in 2025.
