HONG KONG – With July 1 around the corner, giant posters have been displayed across the city to mark the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

Celebratory activities and consumption concessions will be available to mark the occasion, ranging from a giveaway of 71,000 domestic single-journey MTR tickets to free tram rides over July 1-3, from free entry to exhibitions at designated museums to dining discounts offered by more than 1,000 restaurants and merchants.

China Daily photographer Andy Chong took the photos on Wednesday.
