HONG KONG – With the help of advanced technology, people do not have to be athletic to immerse themselves in the tradition of dragon boat racing

On Friday, an event sponsored by China Daily was held at Tsim Sha Tsui’s Avenue of Stars to offer visitors a virtual-reality experience of dragon-boat rowing, alongside thematically designated photo spots to record the tradition-meets-technology moments.

The event is part of a 13-day government-backed summer extravaganza at the Avenue of Stars to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races, with a Dragon Boat Food Lane and interactive diversions.
