HONG KONG - Residents of Wang Chi House — the only building not directly affected by last week’s fatal fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po — returned to their flats on Wednesday to retrieve personal belongings with the help of the officers of the Government Quick Response Unit.

Authorities announced on Tuesday that residents will be allowed to return home for 90 minutes between 9 am and 9 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. A maximum of two people will be allowed into each flat.

As of Tuesday, the death toll from the blaze rose to 156, according to authorities. The police reported that 30 residents remained missing, while 127 bodies have been identified.
