Close aide of Delhi suicide bomber arrested

NEW DELHI - Indian security forces on Sunday arrested a close aide of the bomber of the Nov 10 Delhi suicide blast, Umar Un Nabi.

Umar had died in the car blast, which claimed at least 13 lives and injured many others.

Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Indian-controlled Kashmir, was accused of facilitating the purchase of the car used for the blast.

Confirming the arrest, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which was probing the case, said in a statement that the NIA has arrested a Kashmiri resident who had conspired with the suicide bomber to carry out the terror attack.

According to the NIA, Ali had come to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the car which was eventually used as a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device to trigger the blast.
