PYONGYANG - The top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Thursday guided a performance test of unmanned weapons and equipment being developed and produced by an institute and enterprises under the unmanned aeronautical technology complex, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Friday.
Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, was briefed on the performance and combat application of various types of unmanned weapons and equipment, including strategic and tactical unmanned surveillance vehicles and multipurpose drones, said the report.

The test proved the military strategic value and innovative performance of the unmanned surveillance vehicle and the excellent combat effectiveness of Kumsong-series tactical attack drones, it said, adding that Kim expressed satisfaction with the results.
On the same day, Kim approved and signed a document outlining an important plan reflecting an organizational and structural measure for further expanding and strengthening the technological potential of the unmanned aeronautical technology complex, added the report.
