
PYONGYANG – The Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Friday held a welcome ceremony for the 528th Regiment of Engineers of the Korean People's Army, which returned from the overseas operational area, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Saturday.
Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the State Affairs, attended the ceremony, according to the report.
This regiment, which carried out the combat order of the WPK, was formed on May 28 according to the decisions and orders of the Central Military Commission of the WPK "to build on the valuable victory in the overseas military operations," Kim said.

The regiment left for Russia's Kursk region in August, he added.
