The Hong Kong Observatory canceled all tropical cyclone warnings on Thursday afternoon as the tropical depression moved away from Hong Kong.
The HKO took down the Standby Signal, No. 1 at 2:20 pm as the tropical storm moved northwest across Leizhou Peninsula and was forecast to weaken gradually.

However, rainbands associated with the tropical depression will still bring squalls to the territory on Thursday and there will be swells, the observatory said, urging members to stay away from the shoreline and not engage in water sports.

The observatory added that sunny intervals were expected during the day and the maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees Celsius.
