LIMA - Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on Wednesday appointed former Justice Minister Eduardo Arana as the country's new prime minister, following the resignation of Gustavo Adrianzen.

Asked about the traditional oath of office by Boluarte -- "Do you swear by God and the homeland to loyally and faithfully perform the duties of prime minister without engaging in corruption?" -- Arana replied, "I do."
The president then proceeded to swear in new Cabinet members who will serve alongside her for the remainder of her term, which ends next year.
